Harvest Festival

This year, Year 4 decided to take a look at the deeper meaning of the Harvest Festival. We started by exploring where our food actually comes from and the types of food we can grow in this country. We explored different celebrations around the world and how different things, such as extreme weather events, can have an impact on the success of the harvest. We discussed where all of the food collected is going to go and how important it is to share what we have. The children worked hard to create a Harvest Festival assembly that showed the deeper meaning of our celebrations. They did a brilliant job of learning their lines and singing beautifully.

A Special Blessing for our new Library 30th Jun 2025

We were deeply honoured to welcome the Bishop of Lynn to our school on Friday 27th June, who visited us for a very special occasion—the blessing of our new school library. This beautiful space, now at the heart of our school, represents so much more than shelves and books; it is a place of discovery, imagination, and learning for every child. The Bishop spoke movingly to our children about the importance of stories—those told in scripture, in history, and through fiction—and the power of reading to open minds and shape hearts. His blessing was both spiritual and symbolic, marking the beginning of a new chapter for our school, one filled with curiosity, wonder, and opportunity. Since opening its doors, our library has become one of the most loved spaces in the school. Children enjoy their reading sessions in there, and explore new genres with enthusiasm. It has been heart warming to see the joy on their faces as they discover new authors, share recommendations with friends, and develop their confidence as readers. Reading is not just a school subject—it is a life skill. It builds vocabulary, fuels imagination, improves mental wellbeing, and opens doors to every subject and future career. In an age of constant distractions, fostering a love for reading has never been more important. Our new library is a testament to that commitment, and we are grateful to all who helped bring it to life. We hope the Bishop's blessing will remain with us as a reminder that learning is sacred, reading is powerful, and our children’s futures are full of promise.
