Year 4 World War Two Topic

We were really fortunate to be joined by lots of family and friends yesterday, as we celebrated the end of our World War 2 topic.   We performed some war poems, shared a short play and sang some wartime songs! This was all followed by cake and a cup of tea! 

Year 5 trip to Gressenhall

Year 5 recently went on a trip to Gressenhall as part of their World War 2 topic.  We went inside a real Anderson shelter to protect ourselves from the bombing; met a land girl who took us into the fields to hoe the weeds and harvest potatoes; visited the shop to learn about rationing; made 'chocolate sweets' from potatoes; and learnt to march and attack the German enemy.  The day was amazing! The children said it was the best trip ever! We all learnt so much!

National Poetry Day

We celebrated our National Poetry Day holding a whole school assembly, during which each class performed a poem of their choice. Everyone was amazing!
